Зимова академія "НАТО, безпека та нові демократії: сучасна співпраця та перспективи" у Львові

З 21-го до 24-го лютого 2006 р. Львівський національний університет імені Івана Франка, за підтримки Центру інформації та документації НАТО, Міністерства освіти і науки України та Міністерства закордонних справ України, проводить Зимову академію " НАТО, безпека та нові демократії: сучасна співпраця та перспективи ".

Учасниками академії є 50 студентів із Білорусі, Грузії, Естонії, Литви, Латвії, Польщі, Росії, Румунії та України, які вивчають актуальні проблеми та сучасні виклики міжнародному співробітництву і безпеці. Перед учасниками академії виступлять та візьмуть участь у дискусіях представники керівництва НАТО, ОБСЄ, Адміністрації Президента України, голови Комітетів Верховної Ради України, експерти РНБО України, Міністерства оборони України, провідні науковці з Великобританії, Нідерландів, Польщі та України, посли іноземних держав.

Під час засідань Академії обговорюватимуться загальні проблеми безпеки, питання функціонування НАТО після Празького і Стамбульського самітів, майбутнього НАТО у ХХІ столітті в контексті євроатлантичної інтеграції а також місце і роль України у системі світової безпеки. В останній день відбудуться дискусії на тему панування права у громадянському суспільстві, досвіду інтеграції, нових союзників НАТО, підведення підсумків Академії. Програмою передбачено використання нових комунікаційних технологій, зокрема, проведення відео-мостів.

Офіційне відкриття Академії відбудеться 22 лютого о 9.30 (в Дзеркальній Залі університету,). Академія починає роботу. З нагоди відкриття Зимової академії 22 лютого о 10:00 відбудеться прес-конференція.

Winter Academy
"NATO, Security and New Democracies: Current Cooperation and Future Prospects"
February 21-24, 2006.

Winter Academy "NATO, Security and New Democracies: Current Cooperation and Future Prospects" will be held at the Ivan Franko National University of L'viv under the patronage of the Ministry for Education and Science of Ukraine, NATO Information and Documentation Center and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
50 students, majoring in topical issues of security and international cooperation, from Belarus, Georgia, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Romania and Ukraine will participate in it. Authoritative representatives of NATO, OSCE, the Administration of the President of Ukraine, the heads of the parliamentary committees, experts of National Council for Security and Defense of Ukraine, Ministry for Defense of Ukraine and leading scholars from Great Britain, the Netherlands, Poland and Ukraine as well as the ambassadors of foreign states will also take part in the sessions of the Academy.

General issues of security and the functioning of NATO after the Prague and Istanbul summits, the role of NATO in the process of European integration in the 21st century as well as the place and the role of Ukraine in the global security system will be considered during the sessions: The deliberation of the topic "Importance of Public Diplomacy and Civil Society" will be held during the last day of the Academy. Conclusions will be drawn.

The new communication technologies are expected to be used during the working sessions of the Academy.

The official key-note speeches will be delivered on February 22 at 9.30 a.m. in the Mirror Hall of the University.
The press-conference on the occasion of the opening of the Academy is due to take place on February 22 at 10 a .m.
