     Method of absorbing sets goes back to Anderson, Bessaga and Pelczynski, Torunczyk, West. In its modern form, due to Bestvina and Mogilski, it is one of the most powerful tools in infinite-dimensional topology.  
     The book gives a self-contained exposition of basic and advanced theory of absorbing spaces, new constructions of absorbing sets for various classes of spaces defined by means of dimensional and descriptive set-theoretical conditions, and a wide spectrum of applications to function spaces, topological groups, hyperspaces, convex sets, spaces of probability measures, linear topological spaces.

    Cryptology consists of cryptography, whose purpose is to keep privacy of a text, and cryptoanalysis, whose purpose is to reveal the meaning of a protected text. After the discovery of the public key ideology in 1976, the practical cryptology started to employ fundamental results of number theory and simultaneously raised new deep mathematical problems.As a consequence, by nowadays cryptology became a respectable branch of mathematics, where security or insecurity of a cipher is proven as a theorem.
     This textbook is offered to all who are interested in the subject. Each section devoted to certain class of cryptosystems starts with the discussion of basic concepts and contains the descriptions of algorithms along with their careful mathematical analysis. The mathematical preliminaries are outlined in a self-contained fashion. The book contains many exercises and can be used for the information security courses with various levels of mathematical background.
