Contribution of prof. Ya. O. Kul¢chytskyi  to study of  useful minerals of the Ukrainian Carpathians has been analysed. Some individual publicathions and collective monodraphic works have been devoted to these questions: “Geology and Useful Minerals of the Ukrainian Carpathians” (ð. ², 1976; ð. II, 1977), “Tectonics and Metallogeny of the Soviet Carpathians” (1988). The merit of the scientist in study of combustible minerals (gas, oil, menilitic argillites) and natural waters is great. These scientific works are urgent and useful till now.

PALEOGEODYNAMIC  PROBLEMS  OF  THE  WESTERN  UKRAINE

S.S. Kruglov

Lviv branch of Ukrainian State Geological Research Institute,

Mickevicha sg., 8, 79000 Lviv, Ukraine

Western Ukraine can serve as a good test area for  paleogeodynamic reconstructions. An ancient platform and different-age epi-orogenous zones framed by the Carpathian alpides are joined here. Numerous attempts to explain their modern structure from the standpoint of the lithospheric plate tectonics cannot be recognized as successful. The pulsing Earth hypothesis is in a better accordance with an available geological-geophysical material on the region. However, even this hypothesis cannot solve some cardinal aspects of the structure and the Alpine development. The list of the most important aspects is given in the publication.

Key words: paleogeodynamics, lithosphesic plates, circular structures, passive rifting, polymorphic transformations, extension, compression, pulsation, Carpathians.

It has been proved  that  two generations of greenstone belts have been distinguished owing to incorrect interpretation of radiogenic age data. On the basis of  correlation of crossing through greenstone structures of  Middle-Predniprovian and Western-Preazovian geoblocks of the Ukrainian shield their similarity has been revealed. P.M.Bilonizhka

Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Hrushevskogo st. 4, 79005 Lviv, Ukraine

e-mail: geomin@franko.lviv.ua

Transformation of the  kainite under heating has been investigated  on  the  basis  of X-ray analysis results. Kainite crystalline structure as was determined is destructed in temperature interval about 100-300°C. At the expense of destruction products langbeinite, sylvite and magnesium hydroksochloride forming take place as well as H2O and HCl exudation.

Under heating of the kainite to 600°C such destruction products as langbeinite and sylvite are stable while magnesium hydroksochloride disintegrates into MgO and HCl.

Kainite transformations are presented in chemical equation appearance with every phase content calculation. Kainite mass loss under heating and its conduct in katagenesis process as well as in dynamometamorphism ones has been ascertained.

Key words: kainite, heating, phase transformations, X-ray analysis, katagenesis, dynamometamorphism.

TO A PROBLEM OF PROSPECTING  OF OIL-AND-GAS KARST RESERVOIRS IN THE UPPER-JURASSIC-NEOCOMIAN CARBONATE COMPLEX OF THE PRECARPATHIANS

I.V. Popadyuk, O.V. Bondarenko

Lviv branch of Ukrainian State Geological Research Institute,

Mickevytch sg.8, 79000 Lviv, Ukraine

The whole Mesozoic complex (Jurassic-Cretaceous) of the examined territory was considerably eroded in pre-Miocens time, that is why in the north-western part of Bil'tche-Volyts'ka zone the Creataceous deposits are completely absent and the Miocens rocks  lay directly on the eroded Jurassic surface. Not only karst reservoirs which  associate  with pre-Miocenic erosion but also ones connected with the pre-Albian continental break have been developed in the Upper-Jurassic-Neocomian carbonate complex of the Carpathians foreland. The forecast resources of oil and gas associated with up to Albian karst can be revealed in the eastern part of the foreland where the premises for their screening by the Albian clay deposites have been existed.

Key words: carbonates,  karst reservoirs, paleokarst, barrier reef, reef deposits, continental break, pre-Miocenic erosion, pre-Albian erosion, shelf.

A complex analysis of data on the structure and geodynamics of the Transcarpathian lithosphere has been conducted. On the basis of the comparison of DSS and seismology data with geothermal, geoelectric, tectonophysical, gravimetric ones and by introducing geological, geodetic and geomorphological data, the nature and origin of low-velocity channels  in the regional core have been determined. It was shown that such subzone in “bazalts” is a subzone of increased (due to considerably increased depth temperatures, caused by a high mantle heat flow) rock thermoplasticity. As against it  the subzone in “granites” is the highly fracturing disconsolidated fluidosaturated zone, caused by a constant tectonic loading on the background of transition from high depth temperatures and correspondingly relatively elastic rocks to lower temperatures and hence more risid and brittle rocks. Low-velocity channel in “granites” is a source of geothermal energy, gold-polymetallic compounds, rare-earth and other valuable elements as well as a zone of probable hydrocarbon traps. It is a key zone in local seismotectonic process in which due to fluid pore stress regulation the seismic territory regime can be controlled and destructive earthquakes can be prevented or their negative consequences can be reduced.

Key words: Transcarpathans, geodynamics, low-velocity channel, thermal field, plasticity, fracturing, seismotectonic process, hypogen fluids, geotermal resources, gold- polymetallic compounds.

MAGMATOGENE CENTRAL-TYPE STRUCTURES OF BEREGOVO HILL COUNTRY: EXAMPLES OF TECTONIC-BEARING FRACTURING ANALYSES

O.V.Voloshyn

Ivan Franko National University of Lviv,Hrushevskogo st. 4, 79005 Lviv, Ukraine

e- mail: zaggeol@franko.lviv.ua

The position of Beregovo hill contry magmatogene structures has been caused by their arranging for the zones of crust increased permeability and for the raising of basement blocks. The conditions necessary for displays of magmatism, arise first of all in fault  structures, which were formed under action of regional compression. The network of sub-latitudinal and sub-meridional faults in Transcarpathians can be considered as the dynamically connected combination of shear- and tension zones.

Caused by such combination the arrangement of volcanic centers has been revealed in Beregovo hill country. The influence of regional and local fields of stress on magmatogene structures of the central type was showed in formation of various genesis breaks network.

The main task of research – the division of all the shear fractures paragenesises depending on stress character, which have caused their occurrence. The orientation in space of vectors of the principial normal stress is determined, which action has resulted in occurrence of certain orientation fracturing. The systems of the connected fractures have been allocated, which formation is connected to action of stress regional field.

Key words: magmatogene structures of central type, shear fracture, caldera, stereogram, axis  of principal normal stress, vector, systems of connected fractures.

e-mail: zaggeol@franko.lviv.ua

At  modern  study  of   the   internal  structure  of Ukrainian Carpatians  nappes  the  methods  of the  structural analysis  and  paleotectonic reconstruction’s  are base. We used  them  for study of pre-frontal part of nappe Zelemianka in the quarry  Pivdennyi (southern  borderland of Hrebeniv village). Plicate and disjunctive dislocations of the different orders are advanced in the section  of quarry walls. Multistage  of deformation  process has  resulted  in transformation of high orders pre-fault dissuring in zones of tectonic  crushing and autoclastic melange. On the basis of the diagrams of fissuring the local tectonic stress fields within the limits of a  section are allocated. The alternation of the intense condition of different orientation confirms discrete behaviour of deformation process.

Key  words: nappe, thrust, deformation process, dislocations,  disjunctive dislocation, paleotectonic reconstruction, stress fields.
