The new method of diagnostics and state assessment of the air polluted “plant-soil” system by contaminants of inorganic origins (SO2, heavy metals) is elaborated at the air entering of pollutants arboreal plants, using of functioning, structure and orientation physiological and biochemical processes of arboreal plants marker indexes, determination of active forms pollutants maintenance levels of in the air–plant–soil system which worsening the ecological state, toxicity of air contamination shows up. It is proved that correctness, authenticity and efficiency of the plant – soil system ecological state diagnostics and assessment is linked taking into account hierarchicalness of functions, processes and structural organization of the system, account of feed-backs, by determination of their quantitative level at elaboration of the indicator indexes system of physiological and biochemical processes, functions and anatomomorphological status of the biological making system at influencing of contamination.
