Beginnings of the Polish Sovietology (1917-1939)
The author sketches the development of the Polish Sovietology (1918-1945) in the context of history of political science disciplines of the time period. He analyzes Polish conceptions of the continuity between Bolshevik and Tmperial Russia (Jan Kucharzewski). theory of the "anti-liberal revolution" (Kazimierz Zakrzewski), comparative analyses of Stalinism and Leninism (Wiktor Sukiennicki and others), theory of totalism borrowed from German political thought and harbingers of the theory of Soviet modernization (Stanislaw Swianiewicz, Florian Znanecki).
