Igor Kaczurowskyj
For You, My Beloved Poetry!
The author passionately analyzes the poetic oeuvre of Leonid
Pervomais'kyi (1908-1973). Kaczurows'kyj suggests that with the collections of
poems "Lessons of Poetry" and "Constellation of a Lyre" (came out during the
1960s) Pervomais'kyi found a niche in the Soviet Ukrainian literature that
contained no things "Soviet." The author describes Pervomaiskyi's lyrics as one
of the few Ukrainian specimens of gerontologic poetry and notes elements of
heredity between the works of Kyivan neo-classicists and those of Pervomaiskyi'.
